With our third user conference behind us, we’re reflecting on the time we spent with our customers and partners. We had so many new and exciting things to share, and we hope our attendees are walking away with a better sense of how they can leverage our platform to positively impact the patient experience.

Last year, we discussed the important themes of physician engagement, dynamic collaboration tools and scalability. This year we shifted that focus to include some new projects we’ve been working with our customers and partners, including our growing library of APIs and integrations, smarter and more intuitive alerting functionality, and new customer-driven protocols and configurations to support emergency preparation and management. These new ventures played a special role at MHUG in the form of collaborative breakout sessions, crash-course roundtables and expert panels.

Fostering Interoperability

Our growing CURE Connect API Program had a special focus this week, as we recently launched a brand-new User Management API, which we know can save countless hours of manual data entry for our customers’ administrative teams. Our VP of Solutions, Mike Iwanek, led a deep-dive into the CURE Connect API Program, educating customers on the ins and outs of each of our platform APIs. By taking advantage of these integration opportunities, customers can fortify their mobile strategy and reduce the number of disparate devices and apps clinicians need to use over the course of their shifts.

More Intelligent Alerting

In a hospital, alerting can be a saving grace, or it can be a nuisance. If your hospital uses traditional alerting systems—which alarm to an entire unit or floor as opposed to a specific person—you’re missing out on an opportunity to quiet the environment. A smarter alerting solution can help you promote quicker healing and combat alarm fatigue. At MHUG this year we took a deep dive into alert management best practices and our central telemetry monitoring collaboration with GE Healthcare.

As our partners at GE Healthcare said during their session on Digitizing Clinical Workflows, we provide the foundation for “centralizing actions to optimize, prioritize, de-risk and prevent issues.”

Over the last few years, we’ve connected with customers who have experienced critical events at or near their hospitals. Whether responding to hurricanes or active shooter incidents, our customers have been able to leverage MH-CURE to reach everyone in the enterprise directory at a moment’s notice. We realized the need for greater education around how our platform can provide and disseminate necessary information in an emergency situation. We invited Eisenhower Health CNIO Annette Brown and HCA Healthcare CNIO Annabaker Garber to elaborate on how MH-CURE can bolster a hospital’s disaster preparation plans.

“Anticipate that Mobile Heartbeat will be a critical system right off the bat,” Garber said. Our broadcast alerts ensure that everyone in the facility can be reached, whether they’re frontline staff or C-level administrators.

The Next Generation of Power User

This year our professional services team offered comprehensive power user education sessions to attendees looking to deepen their knowledge of how the platform works. Sessions were broken out by focus: user-focused and technical.

The user-focused workshops included information on using some of our forthcoming 19.3 features, as well as tips and tricks for saving time and maximizing value within the platform. Our technical workshops dove into logging and reporting user activity, and how to gain more value from available APIs, like those in our CURE Connect API Program.

We’re confident that our attendees feel more confident than ever before when it comes to leveraging MH-CURE to improve staff satisfaction and patient care.

Unceasing Innovation

Our third annual MHUG may have come to a close, but we’re confident that our customers will bring what they’ve learned here back to their organizations in order to have a larger, more coordinated impact on patient care and staff satisfaction. We’re so honored to have shared these three days with our intrepid attendees, and we can’t wait to see how they use these new tools to change healthcare for good.
